ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES

Do you know about Ali Baba? He lived many years ago, in Persia. He was a poor man. Every day he took his three horses to the forest and collected wood. Then he sold the wood. One day when he was in the wood he saw forty men on horses. He climbed a tree and watched. The men were like thieves. They had heavy bags of gold. They stopped in front of a big hill and the Captain said, “Open Sesame!”. Sesame was a magic word. A door opened in the hill. The men went in and the door shut. Ali Baba waited for a long time. Then the men came out and went away. Ali Baba climbed down
and went to the door. “Open Sesame!” he said. The door opened and he went in. There were a lot of golden coins and jewels there. “These men are not honest” said Ali Baba.
“They are thieves. They steal these coins and jewels.”
He filled some bags with coins and said, “Shut Sesame!”. The door shut and Ali Baba took the gold home. “Look at all the gold,” he said to his wife. “We cannot count it. Go to my brother Cassim and bring his scales.” When Ali Baba’s wife asked for the scales Cassim’s wife thought, “Why does she want the scales? What does she want to weigh? I can put some butter on the scales and see what they weigh.” When Ali Baba’s wife took the scales back there was a piece of gold on them. Cassim’s wife showed it to her husband. He went to Ali Baba and asked him about the gold. Ali Baba told him about the door and magic word.
Cassim took ten horses, put big boxes on them and went to the hill.
“Open Sesame!” he said and the door opened. Cassim filled his
boxes with gold and jewels. But when he wanted to go out he forgot
the magic word.
Then the thieves came back. When they saw Cassim they got very angry and killed him.
That night Ali Baba went to look for Cassim. When he found him
he felt very sad. And he took Cassim’s body away.
That day the thieves came back and could not find Cassim’s body.
“Somebody knows our secret,” they said. “We must find him and kill
him.”

Դու գիտես Ալի Բաբայի մասին? Նա ապրել է Պարսկաստանում շատ տարիներ առաջ: Նա աղքատ մարդ էր: Ամեն օր տանում էր իր երեք ձիերին անտառ և հավաքում էր փայտ:
Նա վաճառում էր փայտը: Մի օր ,երբ նա անտառում էր,նա տեսավ քառասուն մարդ ձիերի վրա: Նա բարձրացավ ծառին և նայեց: Մարդիկ նման էին ավազակների: Նրանէ ունեին ծանր ոսկով պայուսակներ: Նրանք կանգնեցին բլրի դիմաց և Կապիտանը ասաց.
-Բացվիր Սեզամ:
Սեզամը կախարդական բառն էր: Դուռը բացվեց և նարանք գնացին այնտեղ և դուռը փակվեց: Ալի Բաբան սպասեց երկար ժամանակ:  Մարդիկ դուրս եկան և հեռացան: Ալի Բաբան իջավ  և գնաց դռան մոտ:
-Բացվիր Սեզամ,-ասաց նա: Դուռը բացվեց և նա գնաց այնտեղ: Այնտեղ կաին ոսկյադրամներ և թանկարժեք քարեր:
-Այս մարդիկ արդար չէն,-ասաց Ալի Բաբան: Նա վերցրեց ոսկի և դուրս եկավ:
-Փակվի սեզամ,- ասաց նա:
Դուռը փակվեց և Ալի Բաբան ոսկին տուն տարավ:
-Նայիր ոսկուն,-ասաց նա իր կնոջը,- մենք չենք կարող այն հաշվել: Գնա իմ եղբայր Կազիմի մոտ եվ բեր կշեռք: Ալի Բաբայի կինը խնդրեց կշեռքը և Կազիմի կինը մտածեց՛՛ինչու է նա ուզում կշեռքը? Ինչ է ուզում կշռել? Ես կդնեմ մի քիչ կարագ և կիմանամ ինչ է ուզում նա կշռել՛՛ Հետո Ալի Բաբայի կինը բերեց կշեռքը, նրա վրա կար ոսկեդրամ: Կազիմի կինը ցոյց տվեց դա իր ամուսնուն: Նա գնաց Ալի Բաբայի մոտ: Ալի Բաբան պատմեց նրան գախտնի դռնի և կախարդական բառի մասին: Նա տարավ տասը ձիեր և մեծ տուփեր:
-Բացվիր սեզամ,-ասաց նա և դուռը բացվեց: Նա մտավ ներս, վերցրեց ոսկիները և թանկարժեք քարերը: Բայց մոռացավ կախարդական բառը: Եվ ավազակները եկան: Նրանք տեսան Կազիմին և սպանեցին նրան: Այդ գիշեր Ալի Բաբան գնաց Կազիմի մոտ: Երբ նա գտավ նրան շատ տխուր էր: Նա տարավ Կազիմի մարմինը: Ավազակները եկան և  չգտան Կազիմի մարմինը:
-Ինչվոր մեկը գիտի մեր գախտնիքը,-ասացին նրանք,-մենք պետք է գտնենք նրան և սպանենք:
